Short walks

On Thursday (November 5), I have students from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a couple of breaks for transit, but not much time to walk. I take advantage of a little extra time to walk 1 kilometre down Broadview Avenue to my second student instead of taking the streetcar. Although I walk past Riverdale Park East, which is normally quite a pretty view, on this cloudy, grey afternoon there isn’t much to see.

After my last student, I take the subway to Dufferin station and walk home from there, another 1.5 kilometres. This section of Dufferin is not really interesting or attractive, but it is familiar, and that’s a benefit when I’m trying to walk briskly—I’m not really tempted to stop and take photos.

I’m still proud of myself for sticking to my goals, even when the circumstances aren’t ideal.
